Yesterday i buy a game copy dvd. When i open it, i saw all files are A rar format. What i do now. How do i install my game?
Chosen Answer:
You need to uncompressed the rar files, then run the game installer.
First you need a decompression program – 7-zip is good and free and handles lots of compressed formats including rar – download it here and install it: http://7-zip.org/download.html (Select the exe for Win 32 for most versions of Windows or msi for x64 if you have Windows 7 64 bit)
Run the msi or exe file and follow the install Wizard for 7 Zip.
Restart you computer after installation.
Next you need to create a folder on the C:\ drive of your computer.
Open My Computer (Computer in Windows 7) from the start menu.
Double click on the C: drive icon.
You should see a list of folders and files.
Right Click in the windows (but not on a folder) and select New Folder from the pop-up menu
You should now see an icon called New Folder or New Folder and a number if there is more than one.
Right click on the newly created folder and select rename, change the name to the name of the game.
Copy the files from the CD to the newly created game folder.
Go into the game folder.
Right click on the RAR file and select Extract Here under 7-ZIp in the pop up menu.
A progress bar will appear and lots of new files will appear in the folder.
If there is a readme.txt file, open it and follow the instructions.
Otherwise look for a file called setup.exe and try running it – it should install the game.
There may be folder called crack which contains a .EXE file. You need to copy this into the game install directory after it has installed to run the game without the original CD. It should overwrite a file with the same name that the game installer put there.
